Unit 2 Library

My Item:

I search through pretty much all of the floors and even looked for a philosophy book at metaphysics to check out, but none of them were the book I wanted to read. So, near the aisle with philosophy books I stumbled upon religious books. I ended up finding the Tafsir of the Quran - which is basically the English transliteration of the Quran but, more in depth.

I read a bit of this book while, in bird and loved that they had it in bird because it was something I was previously looking into getting for myself. The pic on the right is the book I read through and the picture on the left are similar books but, it's the continuous chapters (Surah) of the Quran, with more in depth transliterations in each one. These are around the first 20 surahs since there only 2 surahs per book here.

                                                           Me and Bird

The first time I ever went to bird was the first semester and it was just to get a look at the buildings and the floors. But it was very confusing, and I didn't understand the structure of each floor and all the books. They all seemed more "schoolish" books and not general reading for pleasure.

Any time after that I really only went to bird to use up my printing $$. Like printing my digital readings or syllabus things like that. Then once I started working on campus, I noticed that some of my friends had on campus jobs as well specifically at Pages. So, anytime Pages was open I'd go to Pages and get my daily bagel or croissant with butter. Although recently I've been buying their cookies and muffins (Yum! - Big back activities).

Aside from my more personal travels within bird library. It's also only library I've been to on campus so far. So, it does its job. When it comes to the idea of the "brick and motar" library and technology. Being able to go on sulibraries and search up research articles and just texts in general makes the task of going to the library less daunting and helps me to understand the structure of each floor a bit better. Also, where I can find certain texts, I might be interested in reading.

For example, the day I received the assignment for this blog post, and I went in the elevator to look for something I could use. I took a picture of a guide of the book topics of each floor to help me locate what I might be interested in. I even took it a step further by going on libraries while, on a specific floor to figure out exactly what aisle the book I wanted to look at was in.
