Research Questions

 1.  How do college students' proficiency with emerging technologies impact their ability to secure a job immediately after graduation?

Responses:

  • "If they don't know how to work with technology, then they're not going to be able to keep up. Like AI, everyone should know something about AI."
  • "I think there’s positive and negative impacts in terms of our proficiency. There are some jobs that do want college students that have more experience in emerging technologies, especially since it was our generation that grew up with this, so I’d say we have a better basic understanding than older adults. However, there are also jobs that exist that have been and still are replacing workers because it’s just easier and probably more cost effective too. Depending on the career path, job, and just what the individual college student wants to do in general may vary on how quickly they may or may not secure a job in the future, but it shouldn’t completely overshadow or instill fear in that person. It’s just something to take one day at a time"

  • "I think in today’s job market, proficiency with emerging technologies plays an important role in a college graduate’s ability to secure employment. It's been known that employers seek candidates with skills in data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity"

 2. Do you think AI-driven sports analysis impacts the accuracy of your parlays? If you don't make parlays, how do you think AI influences sports content engagement?

 Responses:

  • "AI may provide data that increases sports content and engagement. AI may describe game by game plays or player highlights that are appealing to each AI user to increase sports content engagement."
  • "For sports betting, AI-driven analytics have increased the accuracy of parlays by providing deeper analysis into player performance, team dynamics, and game probabilities. AI processes big amounts of historical and real-time data to make predictions that help bettors make more informed decisions about their parlays
  • "AI can improve the chances of winning parlays by providing smarter predictions. It also makes sports content more engaging by offering tailored information and highlights for fans."

3. How do AI writing tools influence personal writing styles? Do they enhance creativity or risk overshadowing the writer's unique personality?

 Responses:

    • “Ai writing tools can overshadow the writing technique of individuals because the way everyone talks is different. So, everyone writes differently and using Ai it can alter their writing voice. Ai writing can help though in ways to help expand a person writing ability but the downside it’s Ai is thinking for that person instead of them trying to actually learn and write something they came up with. This also can create bad habits of relying on ai instead of their own brain."

    • "I believe that AI writing tools can influence people‘s personal writing styles, especially depending on how frequent someone uses AI. AI in my personal opinion can hinder someone’s personal writing style and uniqueness that comes with writing your own work when they are constantly using AI tools to help them write their work. AI does have good pieces to it. It could help with grammar it could help get someone else start to their idea but when it becomes a tool to just write the work instead of an idea generator or a grammatical cleanup then that is when I believe AI hinders and stops people from reaching their full potential."
    • AI can help with new ideas and structure, but if you rely too much on it, your personal voice might fade. It’s useful for guidance, but nothing replaces your own style."

The structure of my questions and the type of responses I got definitely relate to each other and have a direct relationship. I think the more professional structure of my questions initiated a certain level of thought to be put into them. The use of more formal words instead of informalities. This could also be why the majority of the responses I received were much longer.  Specifically, questions 1 and 2 need more information to really dig deep and understand the purpose. Those who provided examples in their responses made it easier to understand the claim they were making pertaining to the original question.

However, the subject/topic of the questions are also very important. I noticed this with my second question on AI and sports betting. It was hard to get responses to this question mainly because not many people participate in sports betting or even know/understand what a parlay is which is very understandable. Especially since, gambling is pretty much illegal unless you're the age of 21 or over. In structuring these questions and the variety of responses I received I’ve learned that it's important to consider your audience when creating research questions.
